LOON LAKE share new single ‘Radiator’

Last week, Loon Lake announced their national Final Wave tour in October/November, along with the sad news that they will be calling it a day as a band. Ironically, Loon Lake have spent a lot of 2015 writing, recording and producing, which they feel are their strongest collection of tracks in years. After the release of ‘Just Now’ – a favourite on the triple j airwaves – Loon Lake today released the next track from these sessions ‘Radiator’, premiered this morning via Tone Deaf.

Frontman Sam Nolan explains ‘Radiator’, “I wrote all these verses about different girls I had met over the years, funny little stories about them and put it together to make it into one imaginary girl.”

Showing incredible support, fans have been rushing out to buy tickets to Loon Lake’s Final Wave tour happening nationally throughout October and November, prompting the addition of a second show in their hometown of Melbourne at the iconic Corner Hotel on Thursday 12 November (tickets on sale now).

Supports for the tour also been announced today, with Polish Club joining Loon Lake in Newcastle, Sydney, Brisbane, Sunshine Coast and the two Melbourne shows. At the Adelaide show Horror My Friendwill open, and in Perth Stillwater Giants.

About their decision to disband, they said, “There is no fall out, no drama here, It’s just over and it was fun while it lasted. We are very, very proud of what we have achieved over the last 6 years, to be honest, we never really set out to achieve anything except have a bit of fun, but even in our wildest dreams, we couldn’t imagine it would be this fun…. Loon Lake isn’t breaking up, we are just winding up. We are all still best mates and that wont change.”

As an added surprise and a way of thanking the fans who have supported them over their 6 year career, those who pre-buy tickets to the final shows will automatically receive a sneaky download of a brand new album in late September!
