IMMIGRANT UNION Announce National ‘Anyway’ Album Tour

Announced exclusively today in an interview with Myf Warhurst on Double J, Melbourne’s favourite alt-country psych collective, Immigrant Union will take their highly-praised second album Anyway on a national jaunt this August/September.

Along with the national tour announce comes a new single. ‘War Is Peace’, a stand out track from that album, it’s an unapologetically fast hoe down. The track comes with a hilarious video, which in the band’s own words, “is a darkly humorous take on a fictional home shopping channel geared towards selling products to ‘global tyrants.’”

Loon Lake Premiere New Single ‘Just Now’ + Queens Birthday Eve Show

On triple j’s Good Nights with Linda Marigliano, the world had it’s first taste of Loon Lake’s new single, Just Now.

Today, Pilerats have premiered the track’s clip, a “trippy-ass” retro/psychedelic lyric video. Watch it HERE.

Mixed by Tony Buchan, Just Now is the second song taken from the Melbourne rockers’ new recordings, after Surfin‘ was unleashed earlier in the year. With the new sessions, Loon Lake have gone back to where it all started – a bunch of mates hanging out, jamming music they love and not over-thinking things.

Frontman Sam Nolan tells us about Just Now, “It was written and recorded within 2 hours. We were in the studio and Nick went into another room with an acoustic guitar and started the chord progression. I heard him humming this melody and started dribbling lyrics… We both loved it so we went straight back into the main room and just got it recorded straight away”
“With some time I’ve realised the song is about someone else having control of your dreams and all the responsibility that comes with that. Sometimes no matter what, people have power over you and the Lyric “my heart, your hands, you need to take some care” pretty much sums up the song.”

Loon Lake have been making their recent live shows as intimate as possible. They play in their hometown of Melbourne at Ding Dong on Sunday 7 June (Queens Birthday Eve) tickets are on sale now from www.dingdonglounge.com.au
