SOAK ANNOUNCES AUSTRALIAN TOUR

SOAK has announced her first ever Australian shows hitting Melbourne and Sydney in April. She will play a very intimate show at Sydney’s Hibernian House on Wednesday 15th April as well as Melbourne’s Shadow Electric on Friday 17th April. Tour details below & tickets on sale now!

Already compared with the likes of Laura Marling and Beach House, 18-year-old Derry based Bridie Monds-Watson has been a rising star in her hometown of Derry since the age of 14, when a chance uploading of the ‘Sea Creatures’ demo to the BBC Introducing playlist saw A&R board the next flight over and park up outside the Monds-Watson’s household. Yet SOAK rushed into nothing, instead splitting her time between studies, the local skate-park and daunting early shows (such as opening Derry’s tenure as City of Culture hours before a GCSE exam).

Things moved forward last year, when Bridie teamed up with CHVRCHES for their launch of a singles label, toured with George Ezra and Tegan & Sara, before signing a deal with Rough Trade the same summer most of her friends got their A-Level results. Soak was Named a One To Watch for 2015 via the likes of iTunes, Spotify and the BBC Sound Poll.

LOON LAKE RETURN WITH NEW SINGLE AND ANNOUNCE SHOWS

LOON LAKE are bringing it back to the beginning. After garnering accolades and praise for their releases and relentless touring, the band are going back to where it all started – a bunch of mates hanging out, jamming music they love and not over-thinking things. Enter new track ‘Surfin‘, as premiered last night by triple j’s Home & Hosed.

As Jeff Goldblum says in Jurassic Park, “Life finds a way”, and after touring their first full-length album Gloamer, including Big Day Out (RIP) and Groovin The Moo the band decided to pump the breaks. Dan left the band and vocalist Sam experienced throat problems. Loon Lake almost decided to call it a day. Then Sam underwent vocal surgery and discovered his voice was restored to its former glory. Nick who was on drums, replaced Dan as lead guitarist, and Rick (the band’s tech) joined on drums. They promised to give the new lineup a red hot go and head back to basics with their approach.

SAY LOU LOU ANNOUNCE DEBUT ALBUM

The Australian/Swedish critically acclaimed sibling-duo (and daughters of Steve Kilbey, The Church), SAY LOU LOU will be releasing their debut album Lucid Dreaming in Australia on April 10 via À Deux Records / The Orchard.

The latest single from the forthcoming full-length titled ‘Nothing But A Heartbeat’ officially drops on February 13. Pre-order is now available here. It was premiered worldwide and this week via The Fader.

SAY LOU LOU control every aspect of this project – the lyrics, the music videos, the styling, the artwork and all aesthetics involved. The video for their current single ‘Nothing But A Heartbeat’, was devised by the band and directed by Joanna Nordahl (The XX, Lune, Ji Nilsson). In it, we see the band in a dream-like state, surrealistic and boundless with abstract thoughts running free, bringing the album’s title Lucid Dreaming truly to life. Look out for the video very soon.
Lucid Dreaming will be available on all digital platforms and in all good record stores Australia-wide from April 12, 2015 via À Deux Records / The Orchard.
