DEBUT EP ‘WHAT’S A BOY S’POSED TO DO’ OUT NOW + NEW VIDEO PREMIERE

ORPHANS ORPHANS have today premiered the psychedelic new video for their track ‘Lighten Up Your Day’ via Happy.

Inspired by original 60s and 70s live concert and nightclub footage, it was directed by Michela Holmes and filmed over two weekends at Brisbane’s New Globe Theatre and SYC Studios,

The band said, “We were incredibly lucky to work with a great team in Michela Holmes, Tim Adamson and Nick Maguire. Michaela came to us with a concept that drew upon original ideas from the clip for our first single ‘Orphan’. It was a painstaking couple of weeks for the team to carefully piecing together the footage to get those incredible shots in the crazy second half of the clip.”
Orphans Orphans arrived earlier this year with a pulsating, blitzkrieg rock anthem in ‘Orphan‘ and from the get go, there was no mistaking this collaboration of established musicians, having since played to glowing reviews at BigSound 2014, opening for Temples (UK) and invited to join the Blurst Of Times Festival bill.

PHIL JAMIESON JOINS SCOTT RUSSO FOR QLD ACOUSTIC SHOW

Straight off the back of Brisbane Festival, Phil Jamieson (Grinspoon) today announces that he will join Scott Russo (Unwritten Law) for two acoustic double-headline shows in Queensland – playing Friday 12 December at Sol Bar on the Sunshine Coast and Saturday 13 December at Brisbane’s The Brightside.
The two frontmen will be giving fans an early Christmas present as they hit the road for their national tour, starting in Queensland and making their way to Adelaide, Hobart, Melbourne, Sydney, Newcastle, Entrance and Wollongong.
After jamming together in hotel rooms and tour buses over the years, the pair of rock identities developed a sound that has manifested itself into a unique, stripped-back set, which has been screaming for the presence of a live audience. This is a rare opportunity to catch these rock royals onstage, alone and together, with a live set that is charged with raw chemistry and flowing with quality on-stage banter between songs.

ORPHANS ORPHANS RELEASE NEW SINGLE ‘LIGHTEN UP YOUR DAY’

Orphans Orphans arrived earlier this year with a pulsating, blitzkrieg rock anthem in Orphan. From the get go, there was no mistaking this collaboration of established musicians. Now, the band are excited to unleash their second track ‘Lighten Up Your Day’, taken from the 5-track EP ‘What’s a Boy S’posed To Do’ to be released digital worldwide September 19.
‘Lighten Up Your Day’ is the start of an exciting new way of writing for Lewis and Spencer. Lewis had been working on a new chord progression one day, shortly after Orphans Orphans had been established. Spencer heard Lewis working on it and came in straight away with an idea for a vocal melody and within two takes the whole song was finished, lyrics and all.

Self produced in bedrooms, hallways, garages and the occasional studio, mixed by Magoo and mastered by Leon Zervos, the EP ‘What’s A Boy S’Posed To Do’ will have a limited special edition vinyl release, on a choose of 2 coloured vinyl with etching on a 12” disc.
