FOX AND FOWL TO RELEASE NEW EP TOMORROW

Fox & Fowl are set to release their debut self-tited EP tomorrow Friday 18 April.  Today you can stream the EP a day before release.

Already the fast and fun EP has received overwhelming reviews, with XXVI Magazine explaining “Fox & Fowl are definitely a band to watch out for this year… If you’re feeling a little low, listen to this EP, and you’ll re-emerge with a spring in your step.”

The Canberra-come-Brisbane based Fox & Fowl will take the new tunes to East Coast stages next month, playing Brisbane’s Black Bear Lodge on May 9, Sydney’s MUM at World Bar on May 23 and Melbourne’s Black Night Crash on May 24.

‘Pilot’, the first single taken from the upcoming release, is an undeniably fun track. Filming for the accompanying clip involved bribing a friend for the use of his giant jumping castle and setting up in a park deep in the Brisbane suburb of Cooraparoo. Things quickly escalated when a bunch of cardboard instruments were introduced which soon turned to weapons. Friends became enemies. People were hurt. Watch the video here.

SWRLS RELEASE NEW SINGLE

Introducing SWRLS. A collaboration between producer Richard Moore (Irrelevant Celebrities), vocalist and guitarist Thom Moore (Mercy Arms), and drummer James Watroba (Dirty Secrets, Calerway), SWRLS spent 2013 in Sydney, writing and recording songs that evoke the angular guitars of Northern England and the insistent heartbeat of American RnB.

Now, in 2014, they appear from the shadows to present their single, Definition, mixed by producer, Chris Moore (TV on the Radio, Yeasayer, Foals). Definition is the first glimpse of their debut EP, which is to be released in Winter 2014.

Premiered on Triple J’s Home & Hosed program, Definition is the acknowledgment of an inner desire for someone or something. The song encourages the listener to reach out and take what it is that they are longing for, however it also serves as a warning – that the longing for someone can be more unbearable than the feeling of regret.

SWRLS write their music collaboratively; from ideas which each member brings to the table. Their lyrics however, are written from Thom Moore’s own scattered thoughts and musings.

Interestingly, Definition was written about a girl living in the very next room of the Sydney share house where the band writes and rehearses

‘Definition’ is taken from the debut EP to be released this Spring. SWRLS will hit the road throughout June, details soon to be announced

MATTHEW & THE ATLAS RELEASE NEW ALBUM ‘OTHER RIVERS’

Matthew and the Atlas has released his album ‘Other Rivers’ today via Communion / Kobalt.

Building on the rousing choruses and warm melodies of earlier releases, Matthew and the Atlas’Other Rivers‘ brings in more electronic layers and, offer a darker and more expansive lyrical take on his previous works’ collision of the pastoral and the personal – all filtered through Hegarty’s extraordinary low, rumbling vocal.

Australia’s first taste of Matthew and the Atlas was ‘Another Way‘, a track featuring guest vocals from Matt Corby. The band took this single on the road in January this year in the UK and sold out venues from London to Liverpool.

In addition to this track Matthew released second single ‘Pale Sun Rose‘. The track’s video features Charlie Cox (Stardust, Boardwalk Empire) as a loner fisherman. Watch here:
