NEW GODS PLAY SHOWS FOR NEW ALBUM ‘BELOVED’

Melbourne’s NEW GODS will play launch shows in Sydney & Melbourne come December in support of their independently released debut LP Beloved.

Beloved takes the best of 90s indie rock gods like Pavement and The Pixies, filtering it through the tape-warp hallmarks of hypnagogic pop. The result is truly unique. Thematically coherent as it explores vast sonic territory, Beloved is a welcome left-field contender for the best album of the year.

Beloved was released as a digital cassette available online, accompanied by a handwritten track list and a series of photographs that only reinforce how honest and how personal the songs are.  Songwriter Dominic Byrne writes songs with undeniable emotional weight, dripping with the kind of nuanced emotion that’s miles away from the half-baked drama that often passes for “emotion” in popular music.

Backed by an electrifying single that has taken on a life of its own, Elizabeth Rose will kick off her national tour in support of ‘The Good Life’ this week, playing Brisbane on Saturday 2 November at Alhambra Lounge.

To celebrate the start of the tour, Elizabeth has shared a free downloadable remix of her hit single by Sydney duo Alba via Pedestrian TV earlier today.

Joining Elizabeth on the road is Brisbane electronic artist and Future Classic signee, Charles Murdoch.  Canberra’s SAFIA, whose breakout  single ‘Listen To Soul, Listen To Blues’ flew them to the top of the iTunes electronic charts, will support the Melbourne leg of the tour.

Off the heels of winning the Qantas 2013 Spirit Of Youth Awards (SOYA), her captivating new single ’The Good Life’ quickly became the most played song on triple j and has continued to stay within the top ten throughout October.  Earlier this month, ‘The Good Life’ reached the top 20 on the AIR Singles Chart.

Elizabeth left Australia for the first time this October, performing 7 shows in 5 days at CMJ Music Marathon in New York and collaborating with UK producer Sinden and with LA Based futurebass producer TOKiMONSTA (Brainfeeder/Warp).

Elizabeth Rose’s live show will debut a variety of new songs and arrangements from her EP set for release in early 2014.
